LegalTech

First things first, happy holidays to all! I wanted to write a quick post to thank everyone who is part of the legal technology community: users of legaltech software, the companies and individuals making the software, organizations such as Bar Associations, conferences hosting the events, the awesome Blogs and their writers who we get the inside scoops from and the critics in the space who keep everyone honest (or at least on edge!) and everyone in between.

This coming year will be an important and exciting one for our legaltech community. Due to continued market pressure and changing client realities, law firms, in-house teams, and, well, just about everyone is turning to legal technology in ways never before seen.

With all this incredible attention, we now have an important role to play in ensuring we don’t waste this opportunity — so let’s come together as a community and ensure our ecosystem is as healthy as possible. The systems, processes and culture we create now will have lasting effects on the future of the legaltech ecosystem— let’s stand for great people, great software and an open and inclusive culture.

Legaltech is inclusive

In an increasingly divided world, the legaltech community can create a culture of inclusivity and diversity which other communities will be envious of. As a group we need to stand for the best products, with the best teams, solving the tough problems and furthering access to legal representation for all.

Legal technology, whether AI enabled or not, has the power to bring a lot of good into this world, and we need to work as hard as possible to ensure we move the A2J ball forward.

…so when folks asked me what I wanted this holiday season, I say, all I want for Christmas is good legaltech! Happy holidays everyone!
